- For the treatment of schizophrenia (Adults): Consider oral administration of 2mg of Risperidone + trihexyphenidyl, daily. The dosage can be increased to 4 mg/day on the second day. The dosage can be titrated based on the clinical response. The maintenance dose of Risperidone + trihexyphenidyl can be 16 mg/day. For the treatment of schizophrenia (Geriatrics): Consider an oral initial dose of 0.5 mg of Risperidone + trihexyphenidyl, twice daily. The dosage can be increased gradually with increments of 0.5 mg, twice daily. The maintenance dosage should be 1-2 mg, twice daily. For treatment of acute maniac episodes associated with bipolar disorders (Adults): Start with an oral initial dose of 2-3 mg, once daily. The dosage can be increased by 1 mg/day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 mg/day.

RIZ LS 2mg,3mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of schizophrenia. It works by modulating the action of certain chemical messengers in the brain that affect thoughts.
RIZ LS 2,3mg Tablet is taken with or without food, preferably at night. However, it is advised to take it at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. It is important not to stop this medicine suddenly without talking to the doctor as it may worsen your symptoms.
Some common side effects of this medicine include nausea, constipation, and dryness in mouth. Initially, this medicine may cause a sudden drop in the blood pressure when you change positions, so it is better to rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It also causes dizziness and sleepiness. So, do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. This medicine may increase your weight, blood sugar, and cholesterol but modifying your lifestyle by having a healthy diet and exercising regularly can reduce this side effect.
